As part of the NHS Digital response to the Covid 19 Pandemic, arrangements have been made for GP Practices in England to access the GP Connect functionality. Confidential patient information can be processed for the purposes as set out in Regulation 3(1) of the Control of Patient Information (COPI) to support the Secretary of State’s response to Covid 19 (Covid 19 purpose).
This notice will remain in place until 31 October 2022. Information can be shared under the regulations by GPs, NHS Digital and NHS England. Further information on the COPI notice and the Covid-19 purpose can be obtained at:
The Wilson Practice uses AccuRX, a programme integrated with our clinical system that allows us to send text messages, and also now gives your GP the ability to request a photo to be sent to the practice via your smartphone or tablet.
These photos will only be used in support of your consultation and in sending these to us, the picture(s) will be added to your clinical record. AccuRX stores these images as part of the process of transferring to the practice.
The stored photos are on UK servers which are fully encrypted to NHS standards, and are inaccessible by any AccuRx staff. They are stored for the period of time recommended by the NHS Records Management Code of Practice.AccuRX also supports our GPs in providing video consultations.
These consultations are run through UK servers and are fully encrypted to NHS standards. These video consultations are not recorded and no images can or will be captured during these consultations.

Note about Coronavirus Pandemic & Your Information
Special Regulations are in place during the Covid-19 pandemic which require GPs to share information in relation to the response for Covid -019. This current requirement expires on 30 April 2022. Friends & Family TestInformation entered into the Family & Friends Test form is stored and retained for 28 days. Data is processed securely by authorised practice staff. Where issues are raised, these may be considered by members of our team who are bound by confidentiality provisions. In line with the intention of patients, feedback is used for quality monitoring purposes. Submissions are aggregated and passed to NHS England.
